Colorado’s 2019 legislative session was historic by any measure. From climate action and clean energy, to oil and gas reforms to protections for our lands, water, and wildlife, this session was one for the record books. But the policy advancements we celebrate in this year’s Conservation Colorado legislative scorecard began even before the first day of session.
You — our volunteers, members, and supporters — made a difference. You organized, advocated, and educated your fellow Coloradans. You made time to make your voice heard when it mattered most. And because of you, we have a pro-conservation trifecta in the state House, state Senate, and governor’s office.
This year, the Colorado legislature passed commonsense policies that were years in the making with strong, bipartisan support. What led to this fundamental change? Leadership. Our pro-conservation trifecta made all the difference.
At a time when the stakes could not be higher, this new leadership has important consequences. It is clearer than ever that elections matter. And, most importantly, Colorado is better positioned to address issues like climate change, oil and gas, transportation, and water than we were last year. That’s why this year, dozens of conservation bills were passed and signed by the governor.
Our victories on these issues will protect the Colorado we love.
So take a minute to look over this scorecard - see how your legislators voted and how key issues were addressed. The successes of this past year would not have been possible without your voice.
For Colorado,
